12 Days of Christmas

December 11th, 2017 Mike Gecawich

With the holiday seasons right around the corner, teachers face an eternal dilemma.

How can you embrace the spirit of the season in your classroom, while still keeping your students working on important academic skills?

While kicking back and watching Home Alone is definitely not an option, it seems wrong to ignore the festivities altogether.

When it comes to typing, we’ve got just the thing!

This week’s activity hits the sweet spot between reinforcing important typing skills, while still bringing a little holiday joy to your classroom.

Using the lyrics to 12 Days of Christmas, students will get some much-needed practice using the copy and paste functions on their keyboard. Click here for the full lesson plan.

And if you’re feeling extra festive, you could even play this and other holiday carols while students work.

So even if you keep kids focused and learning until the day before winter break, they won’t be able to call you a Grinch.

Happy holidays!
