Basketball Keyboarding

There is perhaps no sport where teamwork is as critical for success as in basketball.

With only five players per team on the court at a time, it is imperative that they communicate and work together if they want to win.

In fact, Michael Jordan once said that “talent wins games, but teamwork wins championships.”

While typing is generally a solitary activity, you can help students develop teamwork through typing with fun games.

In Basketball Keyboarding, you divide your class into two teams which will compete against each other. Teams will try to score the most points in a four-quarter “basketball” game.

Students will earn points for their team depending on their WPM for a given timed-typing assignment.

You can even help instill teamwork by having students select a captain, choose a team name, and make a team chant.
